2023 Trending Color: Half Year Check-In

2023 Trending Color: Half Year Check-In

Do the pinks have it? As the dominant, vibrant force Pantone and other color experts predicted… not quiet yet. While we are seeing a greater infusion of pinks in the marketplace, they are predominantly used as accents to enliven a space. Though the growing interest in Barbiecore could quickly tip the scales!

Pink is making a strong showing in expected spaces, like this charming girl’s room designed by Jamie Irving of @thegrailcollective featuring our Morris Pink Leaf wallpaper. Time will tell if the Barbiecore wave will transform pink into a leading color in primary living spaces!

Currently, Sherwin Williams’ bet on warming neutrals is the color prediction closest to the mark! We have seen a wider embrace of pink-tinted tones as the basis of inviting and modern neutral spaces.

Lana’s charming, double-duty crafts and guest room features our Artisan Plaster Blush Texture wallpaper, which could be Sherwin Williams Redend Point’s more complex counterpart! Lana chose to elevate the pink tones by pairing it with two rich pink paints on the trim and ceiling.

The New Neutral

Neutrals, as it turns out, are leading the way in the first half of 2023. But they are more complex, inviting, and pigmented than neutrals of years past.

Jenna Sue’s storybook bedroom makeover for her daughter is an excellent example of complex yet neutral spaces. She (and her daughter!) chose our Bygga Bo Neutral Woodland Village wallpaper. The illustrative pattern features a blend of delicate color against a creamy beige backdrop that maintains a neutral feel with added vibrancy. Paired with gorgeous sage built-ins, warm beige window trim, and faded terracotta bedding, it is a dream space that one lucky little girl gets to grow up in!

Instantly inviting, Marynn’s master bedroom is a cozy dose of neutral sophistication. In her own words, our Hui Beige Paper Weave was, “The wallpaper that started it all”. The timeless diamond motif adds interest to the space while warm brown and cream tones bring elevated comfort. With a blend of thrifted treasures and modern accents overlaying this dynamic grasscloth backdrop, Marynn’s space exudes charm.

Bold Color is Coming

The question remains: will there be a greater adoption of bold color as predicted for 2023? We think yes!

Interior designer Cheryl Luckett created this sunny lounge space for the Junior League of Greensboro Showhouse! Several saturated hues are used in perfect balance throughout the space, including with our Selwyn Flock Burgundy Floral wallpaper on the ceiling!

Interior designers are leading by example in embracing saturated applications of color. As more designers showcase the endless possibilities of playing with color, we believe this will inspire individuals passionate about putting in the sweat equity to revitalize their homes. But only time will tell.
