A-Street Prints One Room Challenge Fall 2022 Round-Up

A-Street Prints One Room Challenge Fall 2022 Round-Up

Every year, designers and DIYers alike eagerly anticipate the One Room Challenge. The bi-annual design celebration challenges participants to transform a single area of their home in just eight weeks. While it’s a tight timeline, participants rise to the task with immense creativity, ambition, and ingenuity!

This past season, A-Street Prints had the pleasure of sponsoring several designers as they brought their vision to life. We invite you to explore the stunning spaces they created with lots of elbow grease and a little wallpaper magic!

Green Room Statement Ceiling

First up we have this gorgeous green parlor by Laura Castergine. The room served many functions over the years, and it was time to transition it from flex space to defined purpose. For Laura, this meant a cozy reading room that could double as an office when needed.

The fireplace’s original 1904 tile inspired the color for her transformation. And her participation in the One Room Challenge inspired a design choice out of her comfort zone: ceiling wallpaper!

Laura chose our Gallina Green Trellis wallpaper for her daring ceiling upgrade. The classic trellis pattern is a timeless addition to the space; used on the ceiling, it unifies the entire room while providing a focal counterpoint to the walls’ saturated color.

Laura continued the theme of timeless charm by furnishing the space with an assortment of antiques and fine art contrasted by a few modern accents. The result is a sophisticated yet utterly cozy space you’d be happy spending hours at a time in!

Laundry Room Upgrade

Next up is a utility space utterly transformed by a clever combination of paint, wallpaper, and upgraded storage. Tahira Nagori took part in the One Room Challenge to revamp the most ignored room in her home: her laundry room. The original space was cramped, builder-grade beige, and with underwhelming shelving.

By the end of the eight weeks, Tahira had maximized her small footprint and created a space that’s equal parts beautiful and functional. Customized cabinetry, thanks to clever IKEA storage hacks, gave her the functional storage she and her family desperately needed! A rich coat of Behr Juniper Berries paint in a satin finish along the cabinets and woodwork added an inviting dose of color, playfully offset by the bountiful botanicals of our Brittsommar Navy Woodland Floral wallpaper.

In a room as beautiful and optimized as this, we don’t think even laundry would feel like a chore!

Airbnb Bathroom Glow-Up

Libbie Burling was looking to get her rental home renovation over the finish line when she joined the One Room Challenge. Little did she know that the 100+ house would have other ideas for their timeline...

Despite back-to-back hurdles, Libbie never lost sight of the home’s potential – or lost her sense of humor! Her bathroom transformation using our Wright Rose Gold Textured Triangle wallpaper is both polished and playful.

The warm blush and geometric texture of our Wright wallpaper elevated the space while complimenting the home’s historic feel. It also made a perfect pairing with Sherwin-Williams’ 2023 Color of the Year, Redend Point, which Libbie used along the room’s trim and door. The earthy blush is also a soft yet compelling contrast to the shower’s cool, blue-green tiling.

While this One Room Transformation will be unforgettable for Libbie for many reasons, its design alone makes it one we won’t forget anytime soon!

Log Cabin Bedroom Reimagined with Arts & Crafts Flair

Dara Dimitri and her husband have been renovating their log cabin fixer-upper for nearly a decade. After lots of blood, sweat, and tears to make the home perfect for their family, they decided it was time to focus on a space solely for them: their bedroom.

While there were lots of functional updates needed, we were honored to hear our Anemone Multicolor Floral was the starting point for the bedroom’s entire design!

In a room wrapped in gorgeous wood detailing, this Arts & Crafts inspired wallpaper added the perfect amount of pattern! The moody mix of black, blue, green, and red also feels perfectly at home in the rustic space. And while florals may feel inherently feminine, this color option is a perfect balance of masculine and feminine elements.

After so many years of making your home perfect for your family, we are thrilled to have been part of creating your own personal sanctuary, Dara!

Moody Music Listening Room

In the words of designer Leslie Davis herself, “If ever a room I designed had a vibe, it would be this one.” And a vibe it is!

Leslie’s clients were avid music-lovers looking to create the perfect space for listening to their favorite songs. And boy, did Leslie deliver! As soon as you enter the room, you’re transported into your own cocoon of coolness.

The dark paint (Sealskin by Sherwin Williams) creates a sense of secluded coziness. It, alongside our Leith Black Zen Waves wallpaper gracing the media console, also serves to de-emphasize the audio equipment and TV. We love that the abstract waves of our Leith design are almost reminiscent of sound waves!

Leslie placed two Eames-style chairs – the epitome of cool – front and center for the best listening experience. But to round out the room – and create opportunities for intimate gatherings – she brought in a gorgeous rust-colored loveseat and decked the opposite wall with artwork from the couple’s favorite concert and festival experiences.

Like we said, this listening room is definitely a vibe!
